Pressetext über ein amerikanisches Finanzunternehmen:
The 208-year-old x Corporation is using its Global Link extranet to connect customers, slam competitors, and open doors to the $100 trillion world of foreign exchange.
Any better suggestions? And who the h.. are slam competitors?

Explanation:
Please excuse my bad German, but this is more or less what it means:

Explanation:
Slam is very colloquial US English, and Dan is essentially right in saying that it is "schlagen". However, slamming the competition, especially in current US usage, goes beyond merely schlagen [i.e. defeat], it's more like
vernichtend schlagen oder
am Boden zerstören
Slamming the competition also carries a connotation of "schlecht machen" or "verreissen" [see Zahn, Bank- & Börsenwesen"].
Just thought I'd add this - maybe you can rephrase your sentence to include this additional info.
