English term or phrase: proprietary events / leverage
This is from an Executive summary:
XXX is building brand and revenue streams by creating spectacular proprietary events that are leveraged into media, sponsorships, Internet and retail opportunities."
Please help me with this sentence- I am struggling with the expression "leverage' , as well . It appears frequently in my text and I find it difficult to find the appropritae German expression. Thanks!

Some more suggestions:
In IT-speak, proprietary is proprietär. See for instance:

Whether or not you can use "proprietär" in this phrase would depend on your overall context (it might actually work!). From the sentence you give, I get the impression that the company is trying to build its brand image. So "markenbildend" might also work. You may have to be quite liberal in your translation to get the intended meaning (die "Botschaft") across.
I would certainly use the word "Event" in German; it implies something special (and, as you know, it is considered cool in German to liberaly sprinkle in English terms).

Leverage is a word that I, too, often struggle with. I often use "ausnutzen", "optimal / voll ausnutzen / einsetzen" or s.th. to that effect. I have also found several instances of "Leverage-Effekt" (see, for instance, tradition.axone.ch/ViewTerm.cfm?TID=4651)

The following would be one possible translation, but I'm sure you can refine it to make it sound more elegant.
…durch spektakuläre unternehmenseigene Events (firmenintern konzipierte Original-Events), die optimal (voll) ausgenutzt werden, um neue Möglichkeiten [für/in/bei] ... zu schaffen [zur Schaffung von Möglichkeiten ausgenutzt werden]

proprietary
(Re) urheberrechtlich

Anyway, HTH!

THANKS!!! I just love the expression" firmenintern konzipierte Original-Events"- it does not only convey what is meant, but it also has the " right ring" to it.
Thanks also for the suggestions for leverage- I have spent at least half an hour figuring that one out(without convincing result) !

Explanation:
propriety means firmeneigen and
event Ereignis, Veranstaltung
leveraged could have several meanings, depending on the context: 1. Hebelwirkung, 2. Macht, Einfluß 3. Fremdfinanzierungsgrad
In this sentence I would say:
...durch die Schaffung spektakulärer Firmenereignisse, die Auswirkungen auf die Möglichkeiten in Medien, Fördertätigkeit (Finanzierung), Internet und Vekauf haben.
