Explanation:
Die Verbindung mit den drei Sauerstoffatomen ist doch Ozon? Warum das hier nicht so genannt wird, kann eigentlich nur Marketinggründe haben. Steht die 3 von O3 in dem Text wirklich oben?

Dieses O[sub]3[/sub] ist auf jeden Fall Ozon. "Super-oxygenated water" im Netz ist offenbar entweder sauerstoffangereichert, ozonangereichert (v.a. in der Alternativmedizin "ozonisiert" genannt) oder mit Hypochlorit angereichert. Vielleicht steht in dem Handbuch näheres zum "water infusion process", so dass man sicher sein könnte, dass der Apparat wirklich Ozon herstellt?

Ich bleibe bei meinem und Liselottes Vorschlag. Ozon wird durch Elektrolyse hergestellt ("mini-electrical discharge") und wird zur Desinfizierung von z.B. Schwimmbadwasser verwendet. Solange es nur im Wasser gelöst ist, riecht es wohl auch nicht.

würde ich für den Hausgebrauch sagen, oder einfach:

Sauerstoffwasser

hier geht es darum, dass extrem viel Sauerstoff enthalten ist, zur Umschreibung vielleicht: um ein extrem mit Sauerstoff angereichertes Wasser herzustellen.

Den engl. Ausdruck gibt es eigentlich nicht.

Asker: Noch einmal danke für deine Hilfe! Die Verwendung in Schwimmbädern habe ich auch gefunden, aber nichts für die Desinfektion von Obst und Gemüse, Fleisch und Geflügel (hier geht es darum).

The industrial need of Nitrogen, Argon, Neon and Helium outstrips (pro rata) the need of the other components, so they are partly (Oxygen) and fully (the rest) vented off when one extracts the industrially attractive gases from air.

So, some clever clog in the USA figured out that one could use some surplus Oxygen to manufacture “super-oxygenated water”, and sell it with the same kind of “spin” as one used to sell the invasion of Iraq.

This process could naturally only be used on an industrial scale. So, one progressed down the slippery slope and made small ozone injection units for gullible small users, riding on the promotional “spin” created by the big boys. The ozone breaks down quickly in water, and one gets “super-oxygenated water”.

Ein paar Hinweise darauf, dass es sich scheinbar um durch Elektrolyse hergestelltes Natriumhypochlorit handelt (d. h. eine Variante des alten Eau de Javel), selbst wenn dies der Name zunächst nicht vermuten lässt. Und das wird ja durchaus dem Waschwasser von Obst und Gemüse zugesetzt.

Natriumhypochlorit durch Kochsalzelektrolyse
Bei der Kochsalzelektrolyse wird Kochsalz aufgelöst und das Natrium und das Chlorid liegen als Ionen vor. Unter Gleichspannung werden diese Ionen dann Atome und reagieren sofort mit Wasser:

• Natrium (Na) reagiert mit Wasser (H2O) zu Natronlauge (NaOH) und Wasserstoff (H2).

• Chlor (Cl2) reagiert mit Wasser (H2O) zu unterchloriger Säure (HClO) und Salzsäure (HCl).

Diese Reaktionen gehen aber sofort weiter, da Natronlauge (NaOH) und unterchlorige Säure (HClO) miteinander reagieren.

NaOH und HClO zu Javelle (NaClO) und Wasser.

Das aus Kochsalz hergestellte aktive Desinfektionsmittel hat annähernd die gleichen Eigenschaften wie Javelle-Lauge. Es ist aber nicht so stark alkalisch wie Javelle-Lauge.
