English term or phrase: exposed survey chamber
This is from a list of serious repair issues that a council service responds to within 24 hours. Among others one of them is an 'Exposed *Survey Chamber*'.

I have looked wide and far and cannot find a definition, let alone a translation for it.

Can anyone help?

Many thanks in advance!

Unverschlossene/r Inspektionsschacht/-kammer
Explanation:
If I'm guessing right this is usually referred to as inspection chamber in the UK (like the one in my back garden here in sunny Reading). It allows access to the sewage pipe, for example for Mr. Dynarod in case of a blockage. They are subject to pretty strict building regulations, one of which being that it must be covered, i.e., not exposed.
