Kontext: "This has allowed us to do a lot of clever stuff with filtering and effects. We’ve got effects on everything. Distant occlusion, rear occlusion. Sounds become crisper as they come past you. Environmental reverbs so you will hear scenery whooshing by."

I cannot find any reference to this. I think it is some kind of camera effect, but am unsure of the German equivalent.

Any help is much appreciated.

Occlusion describes an effect of partial covering. It can be used in the visual sense, or it can be used with audio to describe a partly muffled sound.
