Es geht um ein Programm zur gesunden Lebensweise. Hier nun der Satz:

Weeks before the event, the organisation of Health Week *took off in earnest*.

heißt das nur, dass es schon Wochen vorher losging? Oder dass die schon Wochen vorher mit den Vorbereitungen begonnen haben?

Schon Wochen vor dem Event waren alle Beteiligten eifrig mit den Vorbereitungen beschäftigt.

Mir fällt auch noch "fieberhaft arbeiten" ein, aber es ist ja eine Gesundheitswoche!
