English term or phrase: Employee Verification
Header of an HR article/guidlines about the verification process. I came up with "Mitarbeiter Überprüfung"; however, the problem I am percieving is that the person is not an employee yet. Furthermore, I could not find the term as such, only the term employMENT verification. Any ideas?

Arbeitnehmer Nachweis
Explanation:
Arbeitnehmer would cover the problem with the person not yet being an employee of the company. Nachweis is evidence/proof.

Thanks for the help, I used the Arbeitnehmer, and used the German word Verifikation. Therefore the term came out to be Arbeitnehmer Verifikation. I ran it by some of my folks in Germany yesterday, and they thought it was the best term.

Appreciate the input!

Bewerberprüfung

Explanation:
"Mitarbeiterprüfung" does exist on Google, but maybe "Bewerberprüfung" would fit better. This term gets 19 confirming hits on Google.

Bewerber-Auswahlverfahren

Explanation:
As to the point of the person in question not yet being an employee I see "Bewerber"(applicant)as the right German term, and as to verification in the context of the whole process and guidelines to it I suggest "Auswahlverfahren" as a term being able to comprise everything like personal and educational skills, job description needed from the applicant and every step of the process to be taken to find out whether an applicant would be right to be an employee.

Employment Verification?

Explanation:
I agreed with Alexander before, but am starting to wonder if your client may not be referring to "employment verification" which is used by external HR customers, specifically related to credit company inquiries, very common in the U.S.

Not sure anymore, unless more text of actual translation is provided.
