Es geht in einem Jahresbericht für Investmentfonds um die Maßnahmen, die im Zuge der Finanzkrise unternommen werden sollten. Assets can be held (= die Anlagen können gehalten werden) und "nursed to maturity" (bis zur Fälligkeit.....??)

We think that a full range of necessary measures will also include bank recapitalisation (including through nationalisation), relief from mark-to-market requirements, so that assets can be held and nursed to maturity as banks rebuild their capital, lower interest rates, wider deposit insurance and increasingly substantial lending through the discount windows of the various central banks.

Dies ist die einzige Interpretation, die mir einfallen würde :-)

Bin mir aber alles andere als sicher, ich habe den Ausdruck noch nie gesehen.
