There are two types of contracts within ACC: Release Contract
This type of contract enables one or more Purchase Orders (POs) to be created and sent to suppliers. ACC automatically creates a list of goods and services as contract subscriptions into a catalog for business users to select when creating the purchase orders. Both catalogs (including punch-out catalog) and non-catalog items - can be handled by this type of contract.

Non-Release Contract
This type of contract does not require purchase orders to be created. Invoices can be reconciled directly against the contract. Invoices for Non-release contracts will be matched against Blanket Purchase Orders, which have been created in SAP. Typical examples of non-release contracts include expenditures on utilities such as electricity.
