Law/Patents - Law (general)
English term or phrase: Added Pub. L. 98-473, Title II, §212(a)(2), Oct. 12, 1984, 98 Stat. 1995
Does anyone know how to cite this in a German text? And more precisely: what does "Pub.L" stand for (public law?), and what is meant by "Stat." (statement?); how am I supposed to present this in a German text, unchanged? I assume "Title" refers to the titles of the U.S.C., no? Thanks for your suggestions!

Thank you very much. I'd never thought of dropping the original entirely but my customer needed German hints to what is meant by all this.
