Es geht hier um antimikrobielle Zusätze zum Mastfutter (Beispiel Hähnchenmast), die Antibiotika ersetzen sollen. Diese werden in einer "floor pen study" (s. gesonderte Frage) getestet.

Kontext:
The antimicrobial composition, as described above, was fed to the birds continuously for the entire ***grow-out***. The antimicrobial composition was mixed with a complete diet at an inclusion rate of 0,100, or 200 ppm. The antimicrobial composition was made into an intermediate premix by adding the entire amount required for each tonne with 5 Kg of a major ingredient, such as wheat, and thoroughly mixing by hand. The intermediate premix was then added to the entire mix and blended.

Ich bin kein Geflügelzüchter, aber die Hühnchen wachsen auch während der Mast, und die Mastphase ist diejenige, die untersucht werden soll (können antimikrobielle Zusätze im Mastfutter Antibiotika ersetzen?), also gehe ich davon aus, dass die gesamte Wachstumsphase (einschließlich der Mastphase) gemeint ist. Wenn die Tiere während des gesamten Studienzeitraums wachsen, ist ihre Wachstumsphase genausolang wie der Studienzeitraum.

Habe ich zwar so noch nie gesehen, sieht mir aber eher nach Aufzuchtphase aus, also vor eigentlichen Mastphase.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Wäre möglich, da die Studie damit beginnt, VOR dem Schlüpfen eine erste Behandlung zu verabreichen, und sich über die ersten 27 - 41 Tage des Hühnchenlebens erstreckt (wonach die Tiere getötet werden). Aber vielleicht ist auch einfach nur der Gesamtzeitraum der Studie gemeint?
