German translation: Zweckanpassung oder Zweckumgestaltung?

English term or phrase: repurpose
There is no context whatsoever for "repurpose". It appears in a circle along with modify, collaborate, approve, repurpose. Since all these are single words, repurpose should also be a snappy, single verb in German. Zweck ändern or s.th. like that will not work. For want of anything better, Umlenken was used, but I don't think it hits the nail on the head. The overall context is the migration from paper-based to digital documents, capturing and delivering information, information sharing and the like. I'm just wondering if someone, especially a colleague in Germany, might have come across a snappy, useful translation.

German translation:Zweckanpassung oder Zweckumgestaltung?
Explanation:
Tricky term. Would be useful to have the other German terms you selected for the remaining words (modify, collaborate, approve) to match it.
Good luck! iris

First of all, thank you all for your suggestions. I only wish I could choose more than one answer! I took Iris' answer as the point of departure, mixed in a little Dan McCroskey and finally used zweckanpassen, although umbezwecken was rather tempting, too (I did feel, though, it needed to be a verb). I agree w/ Dan that it did not have to be a "real" German word since repurpose is also a coinage. Anyway, thanks very much to you all!

Explanation:
This calls for a little intestinal fortitude on your part but since the word "repurpose" is also not listed in the NODE, there is no real need to use an established "Duden" word. You can create a new one.
