English term or phrase: point of sale material
Unfortunately, there is never a whole sentence. It appears in several data sheets about cosmetic products, and the whole text is: "point of sale material: samples".
I just came up with somethink like Werbematerial or Verkaufsunterstützungsmaterial, but I'd like to know if there's some neat, short term.

German translation:Verkaufspunktwerbung oder POS-Werbung
Explanation:
POS = point of sale = Verkaufspunktwerbung (möglicherweise am Produkt selbst) - Romain

POP = point of purchase = Verkaufspunktwerbung (möglicherweise an der Kasse)

POP / POS = Einkaufsplatz or Kaufplatz or Verkaufsort or Verkaufspunkt – Hamblock/Wessels

POS and POP as far as I have ever been able to find out, are two names for the same animal. Sometimes though, advertising people do make the difference that the POS Werbematerial is where the product is located in the store and POP is at the cash desk.

"Point-of-purchase advertising (POP). Promotions in retail stores,
usually displays."

M-Commerce steht für «Mobile Commerce», was bedeutet, dass der Kauf- und/oder Verkaufspunkt (POP/POS) nicht geografisch gebunden sein müssen.

POP-Werbung, Werbung am Verkaufsort

e.g., by posters, display racks, models)

These are the 2 options Schäfer, 6th ed., offers for Point-of-Sale (or Point-of-Purchase) Advertising. So your solution fits right in.

Point of Sale usually stays POS in German, too, but generally in the context of the terminal (cash register).
But maybe these suggestions will help you.
