English to German translations [PRO] Medical
English term or phrase:CVC, colonization, multi-lumen
A medical text about the unwanted side effects of catheters.
CVC is an abbrev. for central venous catheterization, -but is there an abbreviation for the equivalent German term?
I know that colonization is Kolonisierung( meaning in this context, contracting an infection): can I use this term ( Kolonisierung)here?
multi-lumen- is there a German word- or can I use Mehrfach-Lumen?

See the URL below, it seems to fit exactly for your query (even contains your German abbreviation!):
Nichtgetunnelte zentral venöse Katheter (ntZVK)
Ursache von ca 90% der katheterassoziierte Sepsen
Risikofaktoren für Infektion: Multilumen, Lokalisation (Jugularis > Subclavia), wiederholte Katheterisierung, Infektionsherd unabhängig vom Katheter, Dauer der Katheterisierung, Art des Verbandes, Erfahrung des Katheterlegenden
Explanation: ZVK=zentraler Venenkatheter in Roche Med. see also link below.

Hope this helps.
