I'm not sure I would translate "lone" with "einzeln" or something similar, rather with "mono" since that is what it means. I translated "using" with "mit", not "unter Benutzung" or something similar as the former is short and sweet.

Since the phrase is basic scientific English this translation should be quite close to what you want.
