Although this is very informal, I think we should get the logic right!

I suggest one of the following two versions:

1) Ich reise lieber mit meinen Freunden, well ich dann mehr Spass habe als wenn ich mit meinen Eltern reise.

(English: I prefer to travel with my friends because then I have more fun than if travel with my parents)


2) Ich reise lieber mit meinen Freunden als mit meinen Eltern, weil ich dann mehr Spass habe.

(English: I prefer to travel with my friends instead of with my parents because then I have more fun.)

I'm assuming that the writer is in a situation where the choice has to be made.

If it's a general statement, it should be "am liebsten" instead of "lieber".
