German translation:DER Torpedo
Explanation:
I really like ooshi's answer though both previous candidates wrote "DAS Torpedo", Torpedo is a masculine noun and therefore you need to say "der Torpedo. I'm sure any dictionary will support this suggestion.

Schnell Herr Kapitän, wir brauchen eine Antwort, DER Torpedo kommt direkt auf uns zu!

Explanation:
DAS Torpedoboot but DER Torpedo

It's definitely a torpedo which is approaching. Otherwise they would say "torpedo boat" or "sub" or "submarine". Also, it would be against the basics of submarine warfare that the sub is directly approaching the ship to be attacked.

"Schnell, Käpt'n, wir brauchen eine Antwort. Der Torpedo kommt direkt auf uns zu!"

Nothing wrong with the similar answers above. I just wanted to propose the more colloquial "Käpt'n" instead of "Herr Kapitän". All the movies and indeed real life use "Käpt'n", especially during an emergency situation like a torpedo approaching.

"Herr Kapitän" is a more formal way to address the captain, e.g. during dinner on a cruise.
