English term or phrase: rainforests
The rain forests in Germany are very green
German translation:Regenwälder
Explanation:
rain forest - der Regenwald, pl. die Regenwälder

However, rain forests are generally found in more tropical climates than Germany, e.g. in Brazil; Germany just has forests (der Wald, die Wälder).

Regenwälder

Explanation:
I would like to point out that there are no rainforests in Germany. These only exist in the Tropics. Just use "Wälder" instead.

die Wälder

Explanation:
Da es in Deutschland kein tropisches Klima herrscht, kann auch nicht vom Regenwald gesprochen werden, wie z.B. in Panama, Brasil etc.
Daher einfach nur: die Wälder/der Wald angeben.

viel Glück

Urwald (primeval forest)

Explanation:
No, there are no rain forests in Germany.

Just in case "rain forest" in this context means old, "left as it is" forest, I would like to suggest "Urwald"(=primeval forest) as used e.g. on the following webpage:

http://www.greenpeace.de/GP_DOK_PT/BRENNPUN/F0006C.HTM
:Der Kellerwald ein ökologisch einmaliger Buchen-"Urwald" mitten in Deutschland

Just another idea...
