LINGUA FRANCA = Verkehrssprache

Explanation:
"Lingua franca" versteht dennoch (fast) kein deutscher Muttersprachler.

Ulrike Lieder: Gipfel der Verkehrssprachen is patently wrong; this refers to a real meeting on the topic of lingua franca

"Lingua franca-Gipfeltreffen" or "Verkehrssprachen-Gipfel"

Explanation:
I would definitely put the term in quotes as this is a somewhat unusual term in either language (quite apart from the fact that "summit" seems a bit presumptuous for this type of event...). If at all possible, you might try rephrasing it a bit, maybe along the lines of "Gipfeltreffen der Sprachwissenschaftler zum Thema Verkehrssprachen".

This was, however, an actual meeting (cf. pertinent web references), so the preceding suggestion would be incorrect.
