German translation:Leutnant zur See, Hauptmann zur See
Explanation:
I don't know if this helps much.

In British English a midshipman is a full-grown officer (Leutnant zur See), "Senior" probably means the next rank, which whould be Hauptmann.

In US English, a midshipman is still an apprentice "Seeoffiziersanwärter"
