In einem Katalog heißt es über einen Künstler:

"He saw a typographer's squibs as bits of nature freeze-dried."

Ich weiß nicht, was er mit squibs meinen könnte. Der Zusammenhang vorher:

"Steinberg's attunement to documents reflected ... an uncanny form of visual literacy that made him see any mark on a flat surface - a letter, a number, a word - as "a reality", and to see every object and person as the product of a specific "handwriting". He drew documents and wrote landscapes." Dann folgt der obige Satz.
