English term or phrase: end-on-end
From the course notes of a sales seminar:
"upselling = taking the opportunity to move the customer towards buying a more expensive product, for example a Sea Island shirt as apposed to an End-on-End.

"End-on-End" is a medium-price shirt material:

"End on end has the same properties as poplin, the only difference is that end on end features lighter colored weft threads running in a horizontal direction on the shirt, giving it a subtle two-tone effect."

as used by Calvin Klein or Van Heusen

"What is fashionable here at the moment are the colors: deep, intense French blues predominate, with "shockingly strong earth tones" in an abundant variety of fabrics from end-on-ends and chambrays to silky Egyptian broadcloths and sea islands."

I cannot find a German term for "End-on-End" but it is used like a proper noun so if nobody can come up with a German translation, perhaps you can leave it untranslated.

"Sea Island" cotton is a much higher-price shirt material, used by exclusive shirtmakers like Spencer Milne in England.

http://www.spencermilne.co.uk/

"Spencer Milne, Makers of fine English shirts cut and made in our London factory. Handmade in England."
