Lockvogel, Entenfalle
Explanation:
Unless you're referring to the band by the same name, a roothead is a decoy.
I imagine it to be a duck or coot or other shorebird head on a stick - thus the term roothead.

Muret-Sanders lists Lockvogel, Lockente, Vogel-, bes. Entenfalle for hunting decoys
Attrappe might be another possible option.

Thanks! It is a decoy, but I wasn't sure if it was a decoy in the shape of a particular bird.
