|English term or phrase: to open up|
|Das ist was für TüftlerInnen. Ich würde gerne wissen, ob "open up" hier das Gleiche bedeuten kann wie "make off with the normal wheel" oder "wait for the spaces to appear". Wenn nicht, auf was könnte es sich sonst beziehen?|
Der Fahrer erklärt, wie man sich am besten verhält, wenn man mit der Gischt von den Vorderleuten konfrontiert ist:
"I had a problem starting off so I knew I was getting some spray, so what happened, the other boats moved forward a few metres and then got the spray from both sides, we had an onboard camera on there. There was enough footage on there for the same thing, so going round the first corner I had spray for 3 or 4 seconds, then I ***opened up***, we turned on the buoy, I had another 3, 4 seconds of spray, and then I heard a bang, so what we do is: once you get spray, you ***make off with the normal wheel***, you can’t stop the boats coming from behind you, made my turn and ***wait for the spaces to appear***. I am assuming that I have orders more than I anticipated by cutting in front of Clifford which as you can see just knocked me on the side there."
Nur eine Vermutung - im Sinne von "open up the throttles".
Was mit "make off with the normal wheel" gemeint ist habe ich keine Ahnung.
