English term or phrase: scrub cueing
From the description of a professional dj-cd-player: the jog wheel enables "true scrub cueing"... Could it mean "scratching", or is it something else? What?
Thanx,
Caro

German translation:Scrub Cueing
Explanation:
It doesn't mean scratching, but I have no idea what it might mean. But as with many of these new-fangled hi-tech whatchamacallits, it stays in English. Scrub appears to be some sort of audio (and also video) function related to channels.

There seem to be as many interpretations of the term as people I asked... it's very confusing, so for the time being, I guess I'll stick to the English (probably used by other translators that didn't know either? :-))
Cheers,
Caro

genaue Mithörkontrolle

Explanation:
I found a glossary (see URL) in which I found "cueing" to be "Mithörkontrolle". "Scrubbing" can also mean: in beide Richtungen bewegen. Apparently the "Mithörkontrolle" generally works in both directions, so adding something like "vor und zurück" would be superfluous. "True" is always tricky. I hoped my input helps a bit. Eva
