Tech/Engineering / Unit Conversion
English term or phrase: MN
It must be a unit of weight. Here is the sentence where it appears.

Hot working equipment includes a 5000 ton (44.5 MN) forge press, a 6000 ton (53.4 MN) extrusion press and rolling mills for billet,
flat products and bar and wire.

I suppose I could just use the ton units and leave the MN out altogether, but I would like to know what it means, anyhow.

TIA,
Kristina
