English term or phrase: advertised shortcut
Software term and no context ("Advertised shortcut to [installdir]xxx"). The overall context is software development, i.e. the product is targeted at software developers who use some of Microsoft's redistributable files (which will be another question) to build their own applications.

There are about 15 web sites out there that include the term, most of them from Microsoft's library, but I can't glean a definition or an understanding from any of them.

Microsoft's Win2000 glossary (to which the translation will have to conform) lists "ankündigen" for advertise, and I also found "kopieren" for advertise.

My question: has anyone come across a German equivalent? Any other good advice (other than to leave in English, which I'm hesitant to do)?

Thanks for any help.

Explanation:
If you have to conform to Microsoft glossaries then this is your only option. These are the two term Microsoft uses exclusively in all its glosssaries and web pages.

Client's instructions to conform to Win2000 were not quite complete - As it turns out, "Advertising" is a specific feature of Windows Installer; the advertised shortcut is copied onto the target system, but the functionality to which the shortcut points (e.g., a spell checker or some other program component that is not absolutely necessary for the application to run) is only copied onto the target system when the end user clicks on the (advertised) shortcut for the first time. Then the appropriate files are installed, and after that, the shortcut functions like any regular shortcut in a Windows system.

Explanation:
since you have to stay with Microsoft's glossary, "angekuendigt" is the right t choice because "kopieren" is not a correct translation for the word "advertised". The same thing goes for offering the word "Verknuepfung" as translation for "shortcut". "shortcut" needs to be translated into German either using "Abkuerzung" or possibly "Kuerzung" or "Kurzweg",nothing else.
