English term or phrase: head sensor / head controller / casting pit
Context: Metal Level Controller
An analog inductive sensor atttached to the end of a linear actuator is used to sense the metal level in a mold.

I also need help with the terms 'ramping', 'bone cup' and 'command signal'.

THANKS in advance,

Eva

Explanation:
In German, the runner, i.e. the part connecting several pieces in the same mold, is called "Knochen". Don't know if that fits your context.
I don't think head would have to do with pressure here, then there would be no need for a level sensor. I think the head could refer to the upper part of the mold, in which case it would be "Aufnehmer/Steuereinheit/Regeleinheit für das Niveau im Oberkasten" or something like that. It would be helpful to know the type of mold they're talking about - pressureless or under pressure, what the mold is made of, metal going in from above o below...)

Explanation:
casting pit = Dammgrube, Erdgrube, Giessgrube
casting pit refractory = Stahlwerksverschleissmaterial
command signal = Fuehrungsgroesse, Leitgroesse

Druckhöhensensor, Druckhöhenregler, Gießgrube

Explanation:
Assuming that "head" has to do with pressure (do you have more context?). Gießgrube (or Gießstelle, Gießplatz) is per Stahleisen-Wörterbuch.

I would think that the "ramping" is "Hochlauf" (again, more context would help). The "command signal" is most likely a "Steuersignal."

Do you have any additional info on the bone cup?

HTH some,
Kristina
