German translation:perhaps "Hahnenfuß-Schlussel"
Explanation:
Schmidt/Pons – Fachwörterbuch der Kfz-Technik shows a "crowfoot spanner" (BE) or "crowfoot wrench" (AE) to be an "Hahnenfuß-Schlussel" which is a wrench/spanner head with square drive opening to be operated with a drive handle (e.g. ratchet, flexible handle). Available, e.g. in open-end or flare nut shape.

Here is a picture of "crowfoot tool" for Porsche:

With a little imagination, the gizmo could appear a little like the foot of some sort of bird but I found no AltaVista or Google hits for "Hahnenfuß-Schlussel" nor was the term shown in Langenscheidt/Routledge Fachwörterbuch Technik, Ernst – Wörterbuch der industriellen Technik, or K-H Seidel – Handwörterbuch Technik. There were not too many hits for "crowfoot tool" either but they all seemed to refer to automotive applications and did refer to applying torque.

perhaps "Hahnenfuß-Schlüssel"

Explanation:
Sorry I mistyped my previous answer. I doubt if I will ever get used to Umlauts. It should of course read "Hahnenfuß-Schlüssel".
