English to German translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Engineering (general)
I am not sure about my proposed translations, but it is certainly something in that direction. Perhaps somebody will have an idea:
1. Fronius, Spaner, Kreissägen, Bandsägen
... Bandsägen Arbeiten und Anlagen im Sägewerk Band 2 Ausführlich werden in ... Zeichnungen. Viel Platz nimmt die Einschnittoptimierung mit Computerhilfe ein.
2. ATI developed scanning and optimization systems for lumber and sawmills. This has been the most varied job I have ever had. As a Systems Engineer at ATI I started out putting together carriage systems in sawmills. These systems are essentially huge steel frames that roll up and down a track holding a log in place to be cut in a large band saw. The carriage consisted of a set of hydraulic positioners and clamps that could hold the log in place and position it to within 0.001". An operator controlled the motion of the carriage up and down the track past the saw, cutting the sides of the log into slabs and cants. The log was actually scanned as it was loaded onto the carriage and rotated to each unsawn face. Optimization routines were run to determine the most profitable method of breaking down the log based on current inventory levels and lumber prices and other factors. The control system consisted of the scanner, hydraulic positioners with feedback sensors, and the optimization control. All of this hardware was housed in a VAX Q-BUS chassis and run by a VAX board from DEC. The entire system was a 32 bit real time operating system called VAXELN and written in PASCAL.
After a couple of years I began working on the secondary breakdown optimizing equipment, called edgers and canters. These machines would take the slabs and cants from the carriage or other primary breakdown equipment and cut it into actual lumber.
