English to German translations [Non-PRO] Tech/Engineering
English term or phrase:Press to Stop
Message / Instructions to a Customer whose is running an application via a Graphical User Interface.
Explanation: If it says "Press to stop" on a pushbutton on your screen/user interface, I'd use "Stop" in German. Would be pretty obvious to any user that the whole thing stops if s/he presses (clicks?) a button called "Stop".
If you're not talking about a button etc. on the actual screen, I would expect an object (press to stop WHAT EXACTLY?!).
Hope this is any help.
