»In anticipation of ever-faster Ethernet protocols, new cable installations should be made with the best available Category 5 (CAT 5) unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) or higher rated cable, connectors, and interconnect devices such as, ***punch-down blocks*** and patch panels.« I HAVE found »Punchdown-Block« in Google but there were only 2-3 results so I am pretty sure there IS a German equivalent.

Falls damit ein punching block wie in Ref. 1 gemeint ist, dann würde ich das "Klemmleiste" nennen, oder evtl. Anschlußleiste. Beleg z.B. Referenz 2. Es gibt auch "Klemmblöcke", die sind aber meistens nur für 2 bis 4 Kabel (z.B. in einer Heim-ISDN-Anlage um den S0-Bus anzuklemmen). Wenns größer wird, wie in einem Patchfeld, dann ist es eine "Leiste", kein Block mehr.

Allerdings bin ich bisher in dem von Dir genannten Kontext noch nie über dieses Wort gestolpert. Nach meinem bisherigen Verständnis ist die Klemmleiste Bestandteil des Patchfeldes, und es reicht daher, zu sagen, daß man ein CAT5-Kabel und ein CAT5-Patchfeld und CAT5-Dosen verwendet. Daß der Übergang vom Kabel ans Patchfeld (ob er nun über eine Klemmleiste oder was auch immer realisiert ist) dann auch CAT5 erfüllt, versteht sich ja irgendwie von selbst.
