What is the difference between alligator clip and crocodile clip?

Im my dictionaries I find Krokodilklemme and Abgreifklemme for crocodile clip, but the same is true for the alligator. There must be a difference though as these are different ordering options.

Krokodilklemme
Explanation:
Ernst too gives "Krokodilklemme" as the translation for both terms. What I seem to remember is that alligator clips are smaller and have smaller teeth than crocodile clips. While "Alligator" is alo a German term, an "Alligatorklemme" canniot be found on Google. Meybe you should differentiate as follows:
Krokodilklemme (klein)
Krokodilklemme (groß)

you are probably right, what makes me wonder is that in the text also small crocodile clips are mentioned, but this could be an inaccuracy by the authors
