English term or phrase: capping sensor / capping
"capping" in reference with a localisation project, regarding printers. It is connected with the refilling of ink. Anyone got any idea ? Thanks a lot !

It's not so easy without seeing the actual sentence but what about "Füllsensor"?

Thanks a lot for the help. That was actually the same term I intended to use, but just was'nt quite sure. I did then in the end use a combination of your answer and another one and called it a "Füllverschluß-Sonsor" and hope that fits the best in the given context.

Verschlußsensor

Explanation:
A cap is a closing device.
So I think they mean a sensor that checks whether the ink cartridge is properly inserted (and maybe the holder is closed ?).

Dichtkappesensor

Explanation:
oder Dichtdeckelsensor (Sensor oder Fühler)

capping = schließend, hier, Dichtschließend.

This probably refers to the small cap (Kappe, Deckel, Stöpsel) that seals the refill orifice and must be closed (sealed) for normal operation.
I do not think that the term "capping sensor" is a specific term.
The important idea is that it must be sealing against atmosphere. Otherwise no sensor would be really necessary.
