English term or phrase: Deployment of a web site
Can anybody think of a good way to translate deployment in this context.

It is different from the implementation of the site.

First, the site is implemented, tested etc., then it is actually deployed.

Onlineschaltung...
Explanation:
Websites in Germany tend to "go online" ... ist am xx.xx. online gegangen.
For a noun I think "Onlinestellung" or the above "Onlineschaltung" with or without hyphenation seems to fit best.

disagree  Andy Lemminger: Einsatz ist einfacher ("Onlinesch." klingt m.E. umständl.) und drückt dasselbe aus, denn Einsatz/Onl.sch.fallen zusammen

-> "Einsatz" ist uneindeutig, weil es nicht zwischen dem FORTLAUFENDEN Einsatz und dem "einsetzen=deployment" differenziert
