In any technology or process involving (a) sampling a signal, e.g., an electrical signal or (a series of images of) a moving subject; (b) processing, storing, or transmitting representations of the samples; and (c) replicating the original signal from the representations: the production of artifacts as a result of sampling at intervals too great to permit faithful replication of the original signal.

I had started to use "towed implement" but it did not work in all the segments, as some made reference just to the "carrier" rather than the implement (in tow) But thanks as always for trying to help me. Adrian MM. Let us - notably those who have worked in export - pray that the end-user(s) do(es) not interpret and construe 'carrier' as a common carrier, namely a road haulier or haulage business.

(2005) Auch als "Kantenglättung" bekanntes Verfahren zur Reduzierung von verfremdenden (aliasing) Treppeneffekten bei Computergrafiken. Einfache Computergrafiken zeichnen sich durch eine "pixelige" Darstellung aus, bei der Grafikelemente oft nur genau einen definierten Farbton haben. Verglichen mit Fotografien feiner Linien wirken diese Grafiken dann gröber aufgelöst, selbst wenn sie eine identische Pixelzahl aufweisen. Erst wenn die Verfremdungseffekte an den Rändern durch die Verwendung von Zwischentönen beseitigt werden, erscheint die Darstellung realistisch. In der hier dargestellten, auf das doppelte vergrößerten, Anti-Aliasing-Grafik wurden neben schwarz und weiß nur drei Grautöne verwendet, um die Auflösung scheinbar zu vervierfachen.

No  Stephan Briol: Wie Du selbst schreibst, ist die Kantenglättung ein Verfahren zur Reduzierung des Alias-Effekts bzw. des Aliasings, aber eben nicht der Alias-Effekt selbst...(und nur letzteres ist gefragt)
