English to German translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Telecom(munications)
English term or phrase:Channel Hailing
Radio equipment manual. This term appears several times.
Channel Hailing and General hailing.
Explanation: I'm wondering if the word order is just reversed and it should read:
The Hailing Channel would be the Notrufkanal
"Ich verwende für die Boot zu Boot Kommunikation LPD-Funkgeräte, meist auf den Kanal 16 (angelehnt an den Notrufkanal vom Schiffsfunkdienst)."
Channel 16: Distress and safety calls to Coast Guard and others, and to initiate calls to other vessels; often called the “hailing” channel. (Some regions use other channels as the hailing channel; for example, the northeast uses Channel 9.)
