I cannot find what DRL Sec.240 is, but I can shed some light on the 'Records Checking Requirements'. In Official applications, i.e. divorce proceedings, passport applications, the Authorities require ORIGINAL documents. Sending these by Post is somewhat risky, so, in your present case, one could take the 'Originals' to the Bronx County Clerk, who has authority to Copy those Originals and present those certified Copies to Court. And you get your docs. back, without having to send them to Court, yourself, by Post. I have just done this for renewal of my Passport. I took all my documents to the local Post Office, I paid some money, they copied my old Passport etc, they checked if there were any mistakes on my application form and they sent everything to the Passport Office, who accept the procedure. The 'requirements' are what you need to present to the Court in the form of documents. Good luck! |
