English term or phrase: police dispatcher
I'll appreciate any input from fellow-linguists on the Greek equivalent of "police dispatcher." In the US, 911 is the general number you dial for all emergencies (police/fire dept/ambulance), cf. Greek "100."

CONTEXT
"Job Titles.
Whether it be 'dispatcher' or '9-1-1 operator' or 'telecommunicators', the job descriptions read very much alike. 'Must be able to remain calm under adverse and stressful conditions', 'must be able to type 30wpm' and 'must be able to communicate accurately'. But despite the similarities each has in its description, the definitions do indeed differ. That's not to say that some agencies don't use the titles loosely and synonymous."

Explanation:
Σύμφωνα με τον προσδιορισμό που δίνεται αμέσως παρακάτω στο κείμενό σου (A dispatcher is usually the title given to one who works a radio. It may be a dedicated role- the person works only the radio and nothing else. It could be a combination of duties, telephones and radios), ο dispatcher

Both answers were acceptable and I do appreciate the help of both Dimitra and Alex.

Although Dimitra's reference to "διεκπεραίωση κλήσεων" is a successful translation that best suits the "actual process," I think that Alex's answer seem to be better suited for the particular "job discription" I've inquired about. Thank you both.
