Push Rod Inspection
• Place the push rod in V blocks that are as far apart as
possible, and set a dial gauge [A] on the rod at a point
halfway between the blocks. Turn the rod to measure
the ***runout***. The difference between highest and the
lowest dial readings is the amount of runout.
★ If the runout exceeds the service limit, replace the rod.

Θα μπορούσες να πεις και διαφορά μια και για μεταλλουργία το Γιουροντίκ το δίνει ως "λειψό χυτό λόγω διαρροής", δηλ η πρόταση στο τέλος θα ήταν .. "η διαφορά της μεγαλύτερης μέτρησης από τη μικρότερη μέτρηση ... "

Τότε θα συμφωνήσω με τον όρο "απόκλιση" μια και βρήκα το εξής:
Η περιστροφή του άξονα απεικονίζει σε µετρητικό ενδείκτη (dial indicator) την απόκλιση από τον "ιδεατό" κύκλο της διαµέτρου του άξονα στο επίπεδο της µέτρησης (runout).
