Explanation:
It is not actually a "nickname", it's more an idiomatic expression. It's not good at all to call someone a pumpkinhead (basically connotes to "dumb"). Pumpkinhead would be used to soften the phonetic result of its synonym "thickhead" which translates back and forth to "χοντροκέφαλος".
If not referred to a person, it is "Κολοκυθοκεφαλή" (although rarely used even during halloween)...
