English to Hebrew translations [PRO] Art/Literary
English term or phrase:Forgiven in Christ
I believe somewhere in the New Testament, although I can't find it.
Explanation: Nislakh = forgiven. However, it is masculine here (EVERYTHING in Hebrew, well, almost everything, is male or female). Undefined = male; such is life!
Yeshu = Jesus; sometimes transliterated as Yeshua. Some think it is derived from Yehoshua (Joshua).
be' = in.
Explanation: x is used here as as the 8th letter of the Hebrew Alphabet. Nislax and Maxul both mean forgiven, but Maxul has more religious overtones. However, I searched the bible gateway web site (http://bible.gospelcom.net), and found no such phrase. It should also be noted that one usually says "In Christ" or "In Jesus Christ" rather than "In Jesus". However, as I said, I found no such phrase as "Forgiven in Jesus/Christ/Jesus Christ" in the New Testament
