English to Hebrew translations [PRO]
English term or phrase: Slap in the face
As an insult... that expression was a "slap in the face"
Aabedi
Hebrew translation:Slap in the Face
Explanation:
In Hebrew that would be rendered as:

Stirath lechi
samech, tet, yod, resh, tav
lamed, het, yod

Hope that was not literal.

Stirah (sin, tet, yod, resh, heh) or Stirat Lexi (sin, tet, yod, resh, tav; lamed, xet, yod)

Explanation:
A slap, or a slap in the face (literally, "slap on the cheek"). I think a Hebrew speaker would be more likely to say "That insult was a slap (stirah)," than "that insult was a slap in the face (stirat lexi)" -- especially since "stirah" is often taken to imply 'to the face.'
