The word shukravar, or shukra-var is the actual hindi word. "Var" has the identical meaning as the word "day" in English. Also, the word "shukravar" is identical with the original word in Sanskrit, which is the parent language from which Hindi derives.

The other word jumma which some use is actually an urdu word.

Interesting to note is that the names before var refer to cosmic bodies in the solar system as is the case in English.
