Question: 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback 289 mileage: unk. The engine hesitates when you push on the gas, it idles fine, at about 1000 rpm, and it has a mild cam. When you take off, it has a hesitation, when you shift gears, (normal driving) it hesitates until you get your RPM up, it you are in forth gear and you push on the gas to go a little faster it hesitates.

Ildikó javaslata, a `fordulatszámesés’ is jobbára igaz, de ez már a motor kihagyásának következménye: a robbanás nem jó néhány egymást követő munkafázisban nem következik be (a motor kihagy), és ezért a dugattyú lassul, a fordulatszám leesik. Ezért a `motor kihagy’, vagy esetleg `a motor ki-kihagy’ közelebb áll az eredetihez (hesitate).
Már csak azért is, mert előfordulhat, hogy a fordulatszám ugrál egy jó darabig; a kocsi kecskézik – ez is hesitate: a motor ki-kihagy, de a fordulatszám nem leesik, hanem ingadozik.

Azt hiszem, itt nem kihagyasrol, hanem fordulatszam esesrol van szo; a motor kihagyas az 'engine miss'.

"The problem I had was with my 1990 NA, which had mysteriously developed a deep hesitation whenever the car moved off from rest. The engine would idle perfectly, but as soon as you put your foot on the gas pedal, the *revs would drop from 800 to about 500 rpm*, then slowly build back up then from 1000 rpm everything would be fine."

Attila hozzaszolasa alapjan valoban lehet, hogy jobb megoldas a *fordulatszam-ingadozas*... Annyi biztos, hogy fonevet keresunk, es a \"kihagy\" nem az.

Explanation:
a motor hezitálása mindenképpen kihagyást jelent, amely csak időleges, tehát csak olyan rövid, hogy még a lendületben lévő motor vissza tud gyújtani - mondjuk kihagyott két henger, de a harmadik már gyújt (feltételezve, hogy nem Trabant) - ezt a jelenséget észleli úgy a sofőr, hogy ingadozik a fordulatszám
