English to Indonesian translations [PRO] Social Sciences - Human Resources
English term or phrase:Take Five
This phrase means 'take a five minute break', normally used in a performance, eg. "The singer took five during the concert last night".
But what I am looking for is in human resource field, about work safe. The full sentence is:
"when you are in doubt, stop and take five to.......
1) assess the situation
2) identify the issue......."
What is the best equivalent of the 'take five' in this sentence in Indonesian? I understand that the 'take five' in this sentence may not even mean 'take five minutes break', so I don't think I can translate it as 'jika Anda ragu, stop dan istirahat 5 menit'.
I think, the 'Take 5' in this sentence is more like a phrase which means stop, step back and re-consider.
Normally, 'take five' means to 'take a break' (beristirahat). However, in this context, as Chris suggests, it means to stop and think for a few minutes, analyse the situation, consider the options, etc, rather than rush to a decision.
