Ecco di cosa si tratta:

un'alternativa; come faceva giustamente notare Francesco bisognerebbe sapere di che tipo di dispositivo si tratti. Anche a me dà l'impressione che possa essere del tipo che consente di lanciare una stampa su una stampante che si trova altrove. Per questo propongo sia "lanciare stampe" che "stampare".
