Quindi pick up o pick up truck si riferisce sempre ai pick-up o furgoncini aperti, come dice dieter.

Pick up rimane pick up, in ogni caso il pick up fa parte della categoria truck (e' la versione piu' piccola, penso che la linea di demarcazione sia data dalla motorizzazione, in generale i pick up hanno motori a benzina fino a 5000, mentre i truck hanno motorizzazioni diesel che partono dai 3800 in su) questi mezzi sono di normale utilizzo familiare specialmente in zone rurali

Nella linea Ford ad Es. i modelli ranger sono pick up, la serie F150 sono truck
