L'Oxford dà diversi sinonimi per "cascade" come verbo, tra cui stream, flow, pour, surge...
Bisognerebbe sapere se il software mostra il processo (lento) di andare indietro nel tempo o se di colpo torna indietro nel tempo, ad unda determinata versione del file; in quest'ultimo caso sarebbe più corretto "precipita/ fa un balzo indietro nel tempo"...
