A: tell me about last night with Joyce.
B: The evening took flight innocently enough. A few drinks in the bar downstairs and then she invited me up to her suite where, without sounding too crass, I got to know Joyce on a more intimate plain. And then at about three o’clock this morning I awoke and at her invitation I RE-Joyced.

La mia proposta:

[...] ho conosciuto Joyce su un piano più intimo. E poi verso le tre di notte, mi sono svegliato e dietro suo invito, ho Ri-Gioito.

Non potendo sfruttare l'ortografia (essendo una traduzione per la messa in scena) sposterei il gioco di parole su un altro elemento che non sia il nome.

forse cambiare l'ortografia potrebbe essere una soluzione..... il suono è lo stesso e il richiamo a Joyce "dovrebbe" essere chiaro.....

un'idea.... altre per il momento non me ne vengono
